Casey Erickson

Casey Erickson enters his third season as assistant coach for the Bulldogs. Erickson will work mainly with the pitchers, but also will assist in developing all aspects of the game.

No stranger to the program, Erickson spent two seasons with the Bulldog program at the NJCAA level before being selected in the 10th round of the 2006 MLB draft by the New York Yankees. Erickson played three years in the NY minor league system, before being traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2009. After a two year stint with Pittsburgh, Erickson returned to the Springfield area. Erickson comes from a long blood line of baseball which includes great uncle Don Erickson (Phillies), father Bob Erickson (Cardinals), uncle Roger Erickson (NY Yankees), and brother Corey Erickson (NY Mets).

Casey graduated from SCI with an Associate's degree in 2006. He and his wife, Ashley, reside in Chatham, Ill.
