Bulldog Athletics To Partner with Stretch Internet

Wednesday, October 08, 2014

Springfield, Ill.~ Benedictine University at Springfield Director of Athletics Nikki Bull-Eguez announced this afternoon the partnership of Bulldog Intercollegiate Athletics and Stretch Internet to a three-year deal to provide live streaming for Bulldog home athletic contests.

Bull-Eguez says the ever-growing demand for live game coverage and the increased number to the national and international student-athlete population at BenU Springfield were just some of the factors to partner with Stretch. “The offering of live game streaming to our fans will help parents, family and friends of our student-athletes follow them on their collegiate journey even if they can’t be there in person,” Bull-Eguez stated. The Bulldogs join seven other American Midwest Conference institutions that use Stretch Internet. “This move will better align BenU Springfield with other members of the AMC who already provide the service and enhance the visibility of our student-athletes, our department and our University.”

In the initial year, BenU Springfield will be streaming the remaining schedule for men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball games, and hopefully baseball in the spring. “While we are not yet equipped to have coverage at every home event this first year, we look forward to the day we can provide a comprehensive lineup for our athletics programs.” The first opportunity to watch the live stream will be Saturday, October 11, 2014 when Bulldog soccer takes on Lyon College (Batesville, Arkansas) at SHG at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.

Fans can log on to http://portal.stretchinternet.com/benubulldogs/ or click on the Bulldog Sports Network link located at www.benubulldogs.com to locate all live-streamed games. Away game coverage that will be provided by other Stretch partners will also show up on the portal, making all games easy to find on the Bulldog Sports Network. The links can also be found on the Schedule page, under each home event.
