Springfield, Ill.~ Benedictine University at Springfield Men's Basketball moved back to .500 (10-10) in the American Midwest Conference with two decisive wins over Harris-Stowe State University (Mo.) and St. Louis College of Pharmacy (Mo.) this past week.

Feb. 19 | BenU 90, HSSU 76

It was a second-half scoring surge that helped boost the Bulldogs to the 90-76 victory over the Hornets Thursday evening. Down four at the half, BenU Springfield came out of the lockerroom hot and never looked back, holding HSSU to just 35 points in the loss. Senior Stephan Shepherd tied his season-high in scoring, dropping in 20 points to lead the Bulldogs. Clavontae Brown tallied his 15th double-figure game of the season with 19 points. Wynn Adams (18) and Myles Harvell (11) followed suit with double-digit nights of their own.

Feb. 21 | BenU 67, STLCOP 52

In true Senior Day fashion, the Bulldogs pulled together a full offensive effort to dominate the Eutectics for their second straight win. Five seniors (Wynn Adams, Clavontae Brown, Jesse Smith Jr., Myles Harvell, and Stephan Shepherd) were honored for their commitment to the Bulldog program. Senior cheerleader Ann Bartolozzi was also honored. Thomas Dillard was hot from three-point range, draining four three's in his 14-point effort on the day. Patrick Gonzalez and Darius Stallworth also broke out of their scoring slump, each reaching 11 points in the win. Senior Shepherd was dominate at the glass, pulling down 11 rebounds. It was a truly a team effort, as all Bulldogs recorded points in the game.

With the win, the Bulldogs have unofficially secured their third trip to the AMC tournament with two more regular season games left. BenU Springfield will head to Western Missouri to take on Park University (Mo.) on Thursday, February 26 and No. 9 Columbia College (Mo.) on Saturday, February 28. Columbia bested the Bulldogs at home, but it was the Bulldogs who upset the Pirates earlier this season. Game coverage will be available on the Bulldog Sports Network.
