Springfield, Ill.~ BenU Springfield catcher Meghan Mooney has earned the program's first American Midwest Conference (AMC) Player of the Week honors for the week of April 6th.

A freshman from Groveland, Illinois, Mooney led the charge to a 5-3 week, including a big AMC sweep of Stephens College (Mo.) and Columbia College (Mo.) and twinbill split with NCAA Division III Illinois College. Hitting .520 through eight games, Mooney recorded 13 hits (2 doubles, HR), six runs, and drove in seven runs for BenU Springfield. She currently leads the team in hitting (.326) and RBIs (17) and second on the team in dingers (3). 

The Bulldogs visit Hannibal-LaGrange on Tuesday, April 14th, and Missouri Baptist on Saturday, April 18th, to round out the AMC regular season schedule.
